Some feedback from our clients

I have been going to Valerie’s classes since May 2023 and have a noticed a great improvement in my physical health. Valerie gives clear instructions and sympathetically corrects you if she feels you can improve your technique. Having witnessed the benefit I was getting from attending her classes my husband decided to come too and has experienced similar benefits. Valerie is very friendly and makes Pilates enjoyable.

This week marks one year since I started Pilates with Valerie and I’ve been delighted. As a 60 something guy, doing very little exercise, I was a bit nervous joining the class, but it’s been really great. I’m feeling stronger, more supple AND I’ve lost a little weight.
Even better, Valerie makes the classes fun to do,
so are a high point of the week.

Merci Valerie

I started going to Pilates in November last year in order to help ease the pain I was experiencing as a result of a herniated disc. Even in a relatively short amount of time I have still made a lot of progress and I can really say that overall I have really noticed the benefits and I have felt a lot better in myself. Valerie is always very good in making sure to ask whether any exercises I am doing are causing me pain.

Really great sessions !

From the moment you contact Valerie she explains everything to make you feel at ease. Her class be it one on one or a whole class she is professional, caring, and attentive at all times, as well as constantly checking and correcting if you aren’t in the correct position. I love the class and my posture has improved greatly I highly recommend Valerie’s Pilates.

FAQs

How much do the classes cost?

Total Body Mat Pilates is £50 for a four-week block, which is £12.50 per session, at both Bushey Heath and Borehamwood. A single drop-in class is £15 when there is space. Chair Pilates is £45 for a four-week block, or £11.25 per class.

Where and when do the classes run?

Total Body Mat Pilates runs in Bushey Heath (St Andrews Methodist Church) on Monday and Tuesday mornings, and in Borehamwood (Allum Manor) on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. There is also a Wednesday Chair Pilates class at Allum Manor.

Do you offer reformer pilates?

No, all classes are classical mat pilates, with no machines. Mat work develops the same core strength, posture and control using your own body weight, and it is suitable for all abilities.

Are the classes suitable for beginners?

Yes, every class is mixed-ability and complete beginners are welcome. If you can get down to the floor and back up again, you can do the class; if that is difficult, we will find a way that works for you.
